A master’craftsman will make a demosntartion of his art and the use of the yellow of the ceramics apart from appreciating the brilliant landscape colours. In the end of this memorable Artès story, the title of the Ambassador will really be a “sealed bond” of your transformation of “local among locals”.

You will relive the traditions of this house, putting the shoes of a servant of Ca’ Zen. You will take part in a hunt (a photographic one) of the typical fauna of this wild territory which is situated at the Delta of the River Po and has still remained pristine. You will learn the secrets of grooming horses, and will make a traditional ceramic “ocarina” (a type of whistle in clay) to be given to Lord Byron as a welcoming present. At the end of the day, celebrate the success of the venture with a typical Venetian aperitif and, if your contribution is as impeccable as we expect, you will be rewarded with a Certificate of recognition by the very Countess.

You will find out the reasons for which the Castle of Tramontano had remained incomplete, will relive the feelings which moved the population to hunt the tyrant who had tired the people of Matera and feelings which bothered the people with the Count’s manias of power and conquest; you will enjoy a guided visit along the streets of the Duomo of Matera.

The tunic of Faroaldo II (Medieval history and local traditions in Umbria)

Veronica, in the shoes of a PhD Doctoral student in Medieval Art, will introduce you to the origins of the Abbey of Saint Peter, a very famous Lombard abbey in Umbria, which conserves the breathtakingly beautiful Bear Plate, Lastra di Orso, and the most important pre-Giotto frescoes cycle in Umbria. You will enhance your knowledge on Valnerina’s traditions and, in particular, of Sant’ Anatolia di Narco, picturesque Umbrian village, famous for the “Canapine” (hemp fields). In this very village exists the particular and curious Museo della Canapa (Hemp Museum), which testifies how hemp processing, in use from early Middle ages onwards, was a full ‘right’ of this territory. You could listen to the story of Faroaldo II, narrated by local people, understanding and vividly experimenting how hemp was processed, learning how to weave on an ancient loom of those times and, in the end , will round up the venture with tasting typical local products.
